You will have a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and grand mountains from an altitude of 8000 feet. Then you will take the double-wired sky gondola for a breathtaking view of the volcanic Hakone Mountains, arriving at Owakudani Valley (the Valley of Hell). Admire the view of steam escaping from the rugged mountains of Owakudani. You will also have the chance to try an Onsen Tamago (an egg boiled in hot spring water). If you are taking the optional tour, have an early Breakfast at the hotel and catch the 08.30 am train to Nagoya changeover to JR Hida limited express train going to Takayama. (One way train journey – 3 hrs). On reaching Takayama proceed to Takayama Nohi bus centre to take the next available bus to Shirakawa-go (1 hr.) Enjoy exploring the Japanese village and return by bus to Takayama for onward connection to JR Hida limited express train for Nagoya where you change to the train headed for Kyoto. Optional Activities: Kimono wearing experience – (1hr) - This is more than just a kimono-wearing. You can take picture in the dress by your own camera at their garden at additional cost. Tea Ceremony Experience at the tea house – (45mins) at an additional cost. Take the bullet train leaving Kyoto 08:00 to reach Hiroshima 09.58 in time before the tour starts from pick up point at 10. 30 am. The first visit is Itsukushima shrine in the sacred Miyajima Island, which is registered as a world heritage site and also known as one of Japan's three most beautiful landscapes for its breathtaking beauty and quiet atmosphere. The tour will take you to the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Museum in the Peace Memorial Park central Hiroshima. These world heritage sites are preserved as a reminder of the tragic damage caused by the atomic bomb in the Second World War. Your tour will disband at Hiroshima station. After breakfast at the hotel, you will make your way to the pick-up point for the tour commencing at 09.00 am - This tour starts with a visit to Nijo Castle, once used as the Tokugawa Shoguns family palace. Then you will visit Kinkaku-ji Temple, one of the sacred sites of Japan. Afterwards, it's on to Kyoto Imperial Palace, former residence of the Imperial Family. After lunch, you will visit Heian Jingu Shrine, a magnificent structure strongly influenced by Chinese architecture. Then on to the Sanjusangendo Temple with its 1,001 impressive images of Buddha. Try to spot the major sights of Tokyo and, if the weather is good enough, you can even catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji and Akihabara: For those fond of the latest technologies, video games and Japanese animation, Akihabara is THE place to visit. Yodobashi Camera, a giant shopping centre selling mostly electronic items, has the newest televisions and computers and you can try the products on display.
